I Led a team of 8 students from IIT Delhi to design an autonomous disinfection robot to combat the spread of the novel Corona virus. This was an international design competition organized by Micron and universities from the USA, Singapore etc. participated.
Our design was adjudged “the most innovative, feasible and scalable” design, and we were awarded US$ 20,000 as the first prize. After winning the competition, we used the prize money to make a prototype. The prototype could be controlled and tracked via a user-intuitive android application. We further implemented a custom stack on top of ROS enabling robot to visit locations to be sanitised in an optimum order before returning to its docking station.
